This issue of JESCEE (Vol. 3 No. 1, 2024) features a broad spectrum of research addressing advancements in radar technology, industrial efficiency, logistics forecasting, maritime engineering, automotive design, and renewable energy systems. Key contributions include:

  • Monopulse Radar Techniques: A comprehensive review of sum-difference methods in monopulse radar, covering optimization strategies for subarrays, target tracking energy, sidelobe levels, and digital processing considerations.
  • Manufacturing Equipment Effectiveness: An analysis of the Kalix Plastic 501 filling machine's effectiveness using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method, identifying key losses (like deceleration and setup/adjustment) and their causes to improve performance.
  • Supply Chain Forecasting: An application of time-series forecasting methods (identifying Holt's Winter as optimal) to analyze and predict fruit supply for PT Aerofood Indonesia, aiming to mitigate overstock issues.
  • Maritime Emission Monitoring: Development and analysis of an IoT-based PLC controller system for real-time monitoring of CO2 and SO2 exhaust gas emissions on tanker ships.
  • Shore Connection Technology Analysis: A technical evaluation of the use, efficiency, and challenges of shore power connection services for tankers at docks, aiming to reduce emissions and operational costs.
  • Automotive Design for Efficiency: Strength and deformation analysis using Finite Element Method (FEM) on a prototype car door design for an energy-saving contest, comparing materials like aluminum alloy and fiberglass under various impact tests.
  • Renewable Energy System Reliability: An evaluation of the reliability of a solar photovoltaic (PLTS) system used for public street lighting in Tarakan City.

This volume highlights JESCEE's commitment to disseminating research that tackles practical challenges and drives innovation across diverse engineering and technology sectors.
